Secret Service Says Eminem Not a Threat to President
After examining his lyrics, the Secret Service has said that rapper Eminem is not a threat to the President.
The Secret Service felt that there was nothing more to uncover.
In a track called “We As Americans,” which was leaked to the internet last week, Eminem raps, “”F— money/ I don’t rap for dead presidents/ I’d rather see the president dead/ It’s never been said, but I set precedents.”
“The Secret Service takes every potential threat against the president seriously,” Secret Service spokesman John Gill told The New York Post earlier this week.
Eminem does not refer to George W. Bush in the song, nor does he specify what “president” he is referring to. “Dead presidents” is often used as slang for money, since several presidents are on U.S. bills.
