Eminem has fought off gay-rights activists, local politicians, and pro-female groups, but now the rapper will have to deal with the Secret Service.

In a track called “We As Americans,” which was leaked to the internet last week, Eminem raps, “”F— money/ I don’t rap for dead presidents/ I’d rather see the president dead/ It’s never been said, but I set precedents.”

The Secret Service Office of Public Affairs has confirmed that they are looking into the song to see if the song can be considered a threat against the President.

“The Secret Service takes every potential threat against the president seriously,” Secret Service spokesman John Gill told The New York Post.

The song has been surfacing on several web sites and file sharing programs, but was not released for purchase. His label said the song was either lost or stolen.

Eminem does not refer to George W. Bush in the song, nor does he specify what “president” he is referring to. “Dead presidents” is often used as slang for money, since several presidents are on U.S. bills.

The investigation could blow over. As one Secret Service official told CNN, “It would be saying too much to make too big a deal out of this.”
