Evanescence Moves on Without Moody
It appears Ben Moody’s departure from Evanescence is permanent.
“I actually haven’t had any contact with him at all, but I hear he’s way happier, and I know we all are, so it’s for the best,” Amy Lee, the band’s singer, told MTV.
“It was just kind of an unhealthy situation for everybody,” Lee said. “Everyone was really unhappy. I think it was just time to evolve.”
Cold guitarist Terry Balsamo, who performed with Evanescence at the American Music Awards Sunday night, will replace Moody at least through February.
As for the band’s next album, Lee said, “We’re writing a little this week and next week, and then starting in February we’re really just gonna concentrate on writing, and I’m so excited.”
