The Toronto Raptors unveiled an alternative road uniform on Friday with help from country singer Shania Twain.

Jerome “JYD” Williams presented the first jersey to her prior to a practice. She was in Toronto to perform at the Air Canada Centre, where the team is currently holding their training camp.

The jerseys, which are “Raptors red,” will be worn at least 10 times this year on the road and four times at home, including opening night on October 29.

They will have a new logo, with the letters “T” and “R” and a Canadian maple leaf.

“There have been several initiatives by our organization to promote the unique Canadian feel the Raptors exhibit,” said Richard Peddie, president and CEO of MLSEL. “Each time the Raptors play a road game, they also become ambassadors for this country. The alternate road jersey uses colours that express the pride we all feel for Canada.”

Twain and JYD later exchanged autographs.
