CD Review: North Mississippi Allstars – Polaris
North Mississippi Allstars’ guitarist and singer Luther Dickinson calls his band’s third album, “Polaris,” their most ambitious yet. The band combines rock and blues to produce 12-punding songs in just 45 minutes.
But if you’re listening hoping to hear some good ol’ fashioned Southern Blues music, you will be disappointed. This record hits the edges of those two genres, as well as some country and pop. It also touches on a slower jam with “Time for the Sun to Rise” and even hip-hop on “Be So Glad.”
