The next time you’ll see Marion “Suge” Knight probably won’t be until next spring. The rap mogul was sentence to 10 months in jail on Thursday.

A parole board found him guilty of violating his parole by punching a parking valet. He has been in custody since June 27, and the time served will count towards this sentence.

Knight was accused of hitting a valet on the back of the head. A videotape of the incident was too blurry, a parole-hearing officer said.

The valet says he did not see the attacker but his boss had said it was Knight. The boss retracted his statement in his testimony Thursday, but that did not exonerate Knight, MTV reports.

“He back-pedalled a bit,” California Board of Prison Terms spokesperson Bill Sessa acknowledged. “But we have a provision for weighing testimony from fearful witnesses. We gave more weight to what he said that night than what he said today.”

Knight served two months earlier this year for allegedly associating with a known gang member.
