Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates told reporters that his company is currently investigating ways to develop a legal download service for music, that would compete with Apples iTunes Music Store.
Microsoft would join an already crowded industry that includes: Apple, MusicNow, Pressplay, Listen.com, Rhapsody, BuyMusic and soon to be launched Napster 2.0.
Reports also indicate that Amazon.com is looking to launch their own service.
