Buy.com To Launch Digital Music Downloading Service
Isn’t it such an exciting time in the music industry?
Buy.com, one of the largest online retailers, confirmed today that they will be launching a digital music downloading service.
Buy.com’s service will be mirrored very closely to Apples iTunes music store, allowing users to purchase a single song for approx. $0.99 (actual price is unknown), with no monthly fee. The songs are said to be in the secure Windows Media 9 Format, using technology from Loudeye.
Buy.com plans to launch this service July 22nd, followed by a large marketing campaign in New York City.
This service will be available to Windows based PC users only.
