Kenna’s “New Sacred Cow,” which is being released on June 10, almost didn’t make it to the shelves. He recorded the album in 1999 with the help of Chad Hugo of the Neptunes. Fred Durst then fell in love with the music, signed him to his label, and took him to the Grammys where he told everyone that Kenna was going to be huge.

Unfortunately for Kenna, he had his album finished and sitting on his shelf, waiting for it to hit other people’s shelves. But he was never given a release date. Then in a move that is rarely seen in the music business, he was released from his original deal and was able to sign with Columbia Records where he was allowed to release the exact same album that he had already recorded.

Although the original material was written and recorded four years ago, relevancy is not an issue with this album. The style is much different that anything heard previously, but has a vibe from previous generations, especially the 80s. The free-spirited Kenna is highly touted and for good reason.
