All this week, andPOP will be featuring a different artist who is nominated for a MuchMusic Video Award. The awards will be handed out Sunday at 9PM ET.

Today’s artist: Simple Plan

Montreal natives Simple Plan have been producing hit after hit from their debut album, “No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls.” The punksters actually formed when a couple of them met at a Sugar Ray concert. Ironically, they opened for Sugar Ray last year. They’ve played on five continents this year and are seeing their album went gold in Canada.

Nominations
Simple Plan is up for Best International Video by a Canadian, Best Rock Video, and People’s Choice: Favourite Canadian Group. They will also perform.

What are their chances?
They have a great chance in the People’s Choice category, going up against Sum 41 and Our Lady Peace. They probably will loose to Avril Lavigne in the International/Canadian category, but may take the Rock award. Overall, these guys have a good chance of winning something.
