Today’s artist: Lillix

The four British Columbia girls of Lillix burst onto the scene this past year with their single, “It’s About Time.” It was an instant MTV hit, and reached U.S. success even before becoming well known in Canada.

Nominations
Lillix is up for Best International Video By a Canadian. No, it’s not an oxymoron. That’s a new category.

What are their chances?
Lillix, you have no chance, sorry. As they told andPOP last week, they don’t expect to win and are happy to be nominated. Sounds like a cliche answer, but it’s the truth. Avril Lavigne has two videos nominated in this category, and Simple Plan and Sum 41 have the other two. “Sk8r Boi” is likely to take this, but no matter what video wins, Lillix won’t. Maybe next year…
