The biggest question concerning American Idol fans is no longer “Clay or Ruben,” but rather, “Simon or someone else?”

Auditions for the third season of American Idol are set to begin in the Fall, but it is not known yet if Simon Cowell will be a judge.

“I haven’t made a decision yet. I think a decision will be made within two or three weeks,” he told Extra.

Cowell is in the middle of auditioning contestants for the second season of the British show Pop Idol, of which the American version spawned.
