Dixie Chicks Postpone Toronto Concert Over SARS Fears
Add the Dixie Chicks to the growing list of musicians who have postponed or cancelled visits to Toronto because of the SARS disease. The country trio have postponed their concert that was to take place in Toronto on June 12.
Luckily for Toronto Dixie Chicks fans, the group’s concert has already been rescheduled. They will return to Toronto, still playing at the Air Canada Centre, On August 6.
According to a press release issued by their record company, Sony, the decision was made “due to concerns about the risk of tour personnel facing quarantine as a result of Toronto’s current SARS situation.”
Staind and The Raveonettes cancelled performances in Toronto last week. Lisa Marie Presley, Kelly Clarkson, Elton John, and Billy Joel are some of the other artists who have cancelled Toronto visits because of SARS.
