Six albums into their career, Live are continuing the formula that has led to the band’s success. The majority of the tracks from “Birds of Pray” start off slow, but speed up and become the rock songs that fans have learned to know as a Live song.

Ed Kowalczyk hasn’t lost anything in his voice since Live’s debut album over a decade ago. His voice sounds a little uneasy at times, specifically in Heaven. The song has tendencies to sound almost like a Christian rock song, with its spiritual-sounding lyrics.

The album also stays away from over-production, relying highly on instruments, unlike some of their old material.
