While No Doubt in on hiatus, lead singer Gwen Stefani is using her free time wisely to record solo material.

“I have also been collaborating on some tracks on my own with different people,” she said in a post on the band’s web site. “I am not quite sure if it will become a full-blown solo project, singles for a soundtrack or just songs. I am just kind of letting it take me where it takes me and see what happens.”

Don’t count on Stefani leaving No Doubt. She is calling this solo effort an “extension” of No Doubt.

She is also getting ready for the launch of her “L.A.M.B.” clothing line and looking over scripts.
