Clarkson’s Single Co-Written by Aguilera
Kelly Clarkson will debut her new single, “Miss Independent,” on American Idol Wednesday.
The song is written by Clarkson, Rhett Lawrence, and Christina Aguilera. It was originally slated to appear on Aguilera’s “Stripped” album, but it didn’t make the cut and was never finished. Lawrence, who produced the song, finished it with Clarkson when he was in the studio with her.
Clarkson also co-wrote “Thankful” and “You Thought Wrong,” which will appear on her debut album, “Thankful,” due out April 15. Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and the Underdogs worked with her on those tracks, and fellow Idol contestant Tamyra Gray appears on “You Thought Wrong.”
“A Moment Like This” and “Before Your Love,” two previously release songs by Clarkson, have been remixed and will also be included.
Here is the track list:
“The Trouble With Love Is”
“Miss Independent”
“Low”
“Some Kind of Miracle”
“What’s Up Lonely”
“Just Missed the Train”
“Beautiful Disaster”
“You Thought Wrong” f/ Tamyra Gray
“Thankful”
“Anytime”
“A Moment Like This” (new mix)
“Before Your Love” (new mix)
