When the term “crossover success” is brought up, you think of people like Shania Twain and P. Diddy, who have seen their music chart well on several genre listings. Soon, the name Justin Timberlake might come into mind as well.

Timberlake, the former ‘N Sync member, said Tuesday that his second solo album won’t be the same pop music that his fans have become accustomed to.

Under the alias “Sloof Lirpa,” Timberlake will release an album of country folk tunes later this year.

“I’ve been learning to play the banjo for the past four weeks and I think I’ve mastered it now,” he said.

Timberlake also said to expect a new ‘N Sync album in a few weeks, after the boys finish recording “Dirty Polka,” a tribute to such polka legends as Walter Ostanek, Happy Louie, and Rowwen Heze.
