The boys from ‘N Sync plan on getting together next year to record new material.

“We’ve already started writing about a month ago,” Lance Bass told MTV. “JC [Chavez] and Justin [Timberlake] have been writing a lot and are going to have stuff that didn’t make their albums that’s more ‘N Sync-style, so I don’t know what direction this will go, it will definitely be interesting.”

Bass hopes that the album will reflect some of his early influences.

“If it was up to me, I’m really influenced by the ’80s lately, so I could see some ’80s rock in there, some fun ’80s pop,” he said. “I love how it’s come back in style, and it’s just fun music.”

The group hopes to work with the Neptunes, and will produce some of their own material.

Meanwhile, Chavez will release his solo album in late July, Timberlake will tour this summer, Chris Kirkpatrick is managing a group called Ohno and is working on a solo album, and Joey Fatone is working on a comedy album.

As for Bass: “I’m a bass singer. No bass singers have solo albums.”
