It seems the popular thing to do right now is use the beat to 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” in your own song. Beyonce Knowles tried it, and it?s doing quite well on radio. Now Mary J. Blige has sampled the popular beat.

The new song, “Hooked,” which features P. Diddy, will not be included on Blige’s new album, expected to drop in June.

So why did Blige and Diddy use the beats to 50’s chart-topping single? Diddy declares in the song, “Oh, you know we had to do it.”
