50 Cent Regains Chart Lead, Evanescence Debut High
Norah Jones was not able to use her Grammy domination for another week, settling at the number 2 position on this week’s U.S. album sales charts. Jones sold 330,000 copies of “Come Away With Me,” about half as many as last week, and about 30,000 less than 50 Cent, who regains the top spot.
50’s “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” sold 360,000 copies, about 50,000 less than he sold last week, yet enough to improve one spot to number 1.
Fabolous’ second album, “Street Dreams,” racked up 180,000 copies to enter the charts at number 3.
R. Kelly’s “Chocolate Factory” was in fourth. Lil’ Kim returns with “La Bella Mafia,” debuting at number 5, while the Dixie Chicks hold the number 6 spot.
Evanescence’s debut album, “Fallen,” enters the charts at number 7, a very impressive debut for a new artist.
Kid Rock, the soundtrack for “Chicago”, and the soundtrack for “Cradle 2 the Grave,” round out the top 10.
In Canada, Jones held on to first, while Matthew Good debuted in second.
