New Yorkers to Host Grammys
On the surface, it would appear that Grammy Awards organizers couldn’t find a host for this Sunday’s show. Whether or not that is true, we might never know, but with just five days before the awards are handed out, they announced today that several personalities from New York will share hosting duties.
Marc Anthony, Ed Bradley (60 Minutes), Queen Latifah, Paul Schaffer (isn’t he Canadian? Yes.), Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and Robin Williams will share the duties. Others are expected to be announced.
“In light of our return to the city, we wanted to do something unique both to acknowledge New York’s prominent status in the music world, and to celebrate the legendary heart, soul, and spirit of the people who live here,” Recording Academy president Neil Portnow said in a statement.
More presenters were also announced today: Aretha Franklin, Peter Gabriel, Herbie Hancock, Rod Stewart, Harvey Firestein, Alicia Keys, Train’s Pat Monahan, B.B. King, Raphael Saadiq, Bonnie Raitt, and ‘N Sync’s Justin Timberlake.
It’s all going down this Sunday at 8PM.
