Jamie-Lynn Sigler to Speak to Teen Girls at Forum in Toronto
Jamie-Lynn Sigler of the Sopranos will speak with teenage girls at an upcoming forum in Toronto. The actress and singer will speak about how she triumphed over a life-threatening eating disorder at “Let?s Talk” on March 1.
The forum is designed to empower young women to feel good about who they are, and will give them an opportunity to discuss issues that matter to them. The tone of the forum is open, secure and non-judgmental.
?Teenage girls face a wide variety of challenges and can often feel confused, overwhelmed and all alone,? says Cindy Aikman, organizer of the Let?s Talk event. ?Let?s Talk offers young women an opportunity to get together for a common purpose, and provides an open forum for them to listen, learn and dialogue with both their peers and our speakers. This is a real opportunity for teenage girls to say or to hear exactly what they?re thinking and feeling. The potential benefits from this unique type of group experience can be tremendous.?
Also speaking at the event will be MuchMusic VJ Amanda Walsh, Paediatrician and Author Dr. Miriam Kaufman, Children?s Rights Advocate and child abuse survivor Cherry Kingsley.
Sigler stars in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, and released a solo CD last year.
The event, produced by First Born Productions, will be held at Toronto’s John Bassett Theatre on March 1, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and range from $29-$39.
