For those of you who have always wanted to know “the real Justin Timberlake,” you’ll have to wait a little bit longer.

Timberlake, member of the boyband ‘N Sync, signed a seven-figure deal with Ballantine Books to publish “Inside Drive: A Novel of Basketball, Life and Love.” Sounds more like the life story of Michael Jordan, but worrying about the title is not important at this point. The novel won’t see the light of day, because Timberlake had no time to promote the book, a spokesperson for the publishing house told the AP.

“We felt very strongly that we needed him to be able to go out on the road and do national media appearances and bookstore events,” said Kim Hovey, Ballantine’s Vice President and director of publicity.

Lisa Kasteler, Timberlake’s publicist, challenged Hovey’s remarks by iterating that the singer simply could not dedicate enough time to completing the book. She said he did not complete the book and will not seek another book deal.

“He had too much going on to be able to give it the kind of time that he wanted to,” she told the AP.
