As you all know, this Thursday (8th November) was the MTV Europe Awards in Frankfurt, Germany, so here’s all the gossip from the night.
Music:
With performances from Kylie Minogue, Limp Bizkit, REM, Craig David, U2 and Mary J Blige, among others, it was a night full of big names and fantastic sounds. Kylie did a fantastic version of Can’t Get You Out Of My Head and Craig David sang Walking Away and a little bit of U2′s One, to say thank you to U2, who did the opposite at the Brits earlier this year. Limp Bizkit performed alongside rock legend Jimmy Page.
Celebrities:
Almost all the a-list stars of the moment were around to present awards or just to watch, including Alicia Keys, Ronan Keating, Joshua Jackson, Ben Stiller, Claudia Schiffer, Atomic Kitten, Emma Bunton, Christina Ricci and Eddy Grant.
Awards:
There were plenty of awards to be picked up on Thursday, and they included Best Newcomer to Dido, Best Male to Robbie Williams, Best Female to Jennifer Lopez, Best Song to Gorillaz, Best R’n'b to Craig David, Best Dance to
Gorillaz and Best Group to Limp Bizkit. also won a Lifetime Achievement Award. The biggest winners of the night were Limp Bizkit, who received three awards and the biggest disappointment was for Gorillaz, who, surprisingly, only won two of the six awards they were nominated for.
Style:
As usual, there were plenty of fashion mistakes around on Thursday night. The worst had to be Pink’s long blonde hair, and Travis’ outfits were also interesting!
Overall:
Thursday was a brilliant night for the British, who picked up many more awards than usual, with Craig David and Gorillaz both taking multiple awards.
