R. Kelly: I’m Innocent
R. Kelly says he did not have sex with an underage girl, despite what was reported by the Chicago Sun-Times last week. Chicago police are still investigating the singer, after the paper was anonymously sent a 27-minute tape depicting the R&B singer having sex with a 14-year-old.
“It’s very difficult for me, but you know, I’m innocent,” Kelly told Chicago television station WMAQ, according to MTV. “So it’s not that difficult. It’s crap, and that’s how we’re going to treat it.”
Kelly’s lawyer, John M. Touhy, released a statement saying, “no videotape of Robert Kelly having sex with an underage girl exists, and any such statements that there is such a videotape are false and malicious.”
“The Best of Both Worlds,” his duet album with Jay-Z will still be released on March 26.
