Nominees for the 5th Annual Canadian Radio Music Awards were announced Monday. The awards are part of the 2002 Canadian Music Week, being held in downtown Toronto from February 28 to March 3, with the awards being handed out March 2.
Rick Mercer will host the show, which features performances by Sugar Jones, the Ennis Sisters, Staggered Crossing, and Jelleestone. Mercer hosted the Juno Awards last year.
“The nominees we’re announcing today for the 2002 CRMAs represent our country’s new talent and the dedication of broadcasters to promote these upcoming music stars,” said Gary Slaight, President and CEO, Standard Broadcasting Corporation and one of the founders of the CRMAs.
The awards honor new Canadian musicians.
