Alicia Keys, who made her debut this year, was awarded with five American Music Award nominations, it was announced Monday. Ten acts received two nominations each.

Winners will be announced live on ABC on January 9, 2002, from Los Angeles. P. Diddy will host the show, with performances by Kid Rock, Cher, Shaggy and Brooks & Dunn.
