Our Lady Peace, Nickelback, and Leonard Cohen lead the list of nominees for the 2002 Juno Awards, as announced Monday at a press conference held in Toronto?s CTV Studios.

Our Lady Peace is nominated for five awards, followed by Nickelback and Cohen with four each. Sum41, Diana Krall, and Hawksley Workman were nominated for three Junos each.

Nelly Furtado, last year?s big winner, is nominated for two awards: Best Album and Best Artist. Although her album came out in 2000, it was ineligible to compete for Best Album in 2001 because she was a new artist at the time. Therefore, the nomination-eligibility for that category was allowed to be carried over to this year.

Alanis Morissette, Nelly Furtado, Diana Krall, Amanda Marshall, Nickelback, Sum 41 and Great Big Sea, in addition to the Barenaked Ladies, will perform on the show. More performers will be announced soon.

Awards will be handed out on Sunday, April 14 at 8 p.m. from Mile One Stadium in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
