Singer Jewel was injured when she was thrown from a horse, the AP reports. Jewel was taking time off at the Texas ranch of her boyfriend, rodeo star Ty Murray, the co-president of her record label told the AP.

“Jewel was injured yesterday when she was thrown from a horse, sustaining a broken collarbone and first rib, as well as bruises,” her official site reports. “She is currently being treated and, fortunately, her injuries are not life threatening or permanent. Early word from the doctor is that Jewel will be unable to travel for the next two weeks, and that it will be several days before the status of her promotional and concert commitments beyond this initial period can be determined.”

“They’ve confirmed to me that nothing was life-threatening,” Ron Shapiro, co-president at Atlantic Records, told The Associated Press. “But she is badly hurt.”

A European tour is still up in the air, but her North American tour should still go on as scheduled.
