Jackson to Accept AMA Honour
Michael Jackson will accept the “Artist of the Century” award at the American Music Awards Wednesday. The past few weeks have been filled with turmoil, seeing AMA Executive Producer Dick Clark accuse Grammy Head-Honcho Michael Greene of not allowing artists who have appeared on the AMAs to appear at the Grammys. He also said Michael Jackson was not allowed to appear on his show because he wanted to perform at the Grammys.
“Mr. Greene has caused me a lot of pain and a lot of stress,” he said, according to Billboard. “I’ve known Michael Jackson since he was a kid … To have another party interfere in that relationship makes me very, very angry.”
But it all seems to be coming together. Jackson won’t perform at the AMAs, but he will appear. Greene said this would not mean Jackson would be banned from the Grammys, but only time will tell.
