Details of New Hip Album Announced
The Tragically Hip will return with a new studio album on Jun 11, 2002, titled “In Violet Light,” according to Universal Music Canada. The Hip will perform in Halifax, Nova Scotia on June 30, on July 12 in Sarnia, Ontario, and on July 14 in Camrose, Alberta.
The album is produced by Hugh Padgham (David Bowie, Genesis, the Police) and was recorded at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas. Jake Gold, the band’s manager, tells Billboard that the 11-track set is a “real rock record.”
More tour information from the Hip should be announced in the coming weeks. Gold tells Billboard that they will tour North American in late June through early September, and Europe in November.
