Destiny’s Child to Duet with Sanz at Grammys
Destiny’s Child will perform a duet with Latin singer Alejandro Sanz at the 44th Grammy Awards, as confirmed by organizers Monday. They had originally planned to sing “Quisiera Ser” at the Latin Grammys, which were cancelled due to the terrorist attacks.
“We are so excited about performing at the Grammys for the second year in a row,” said Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland.” This is even more special because we are going to share the stage with Alejandro Sanz, who’s such an important artist. We were not able to perform with Alejandro for the Latin Grammys because of the tragic events of September 11th. We will remember all the heroes of that day and all the innocent lives lost. We are honored to perform with such a giant in the Latin world and are eager to show all our fans another side to Destiny’s Child.”
Alejandro Sanz has sold over 15-million albums worldwide, making him Spain’s most successful recording artist in the country?s history.
“I am really looking forward to performing with Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle, three of the loveliest and most creative talents in the world, and I am grateful to the Grammys for giving us a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in creating this moment for us,” he said.
Train and Alan Jackson were also announced as musical performers. Dixie Chicks, Kid Rock, Kevin James and Ray Romano will present.
