In what comes as a surprise to everyone in the music industry, Chris Cornell has left the unnamed band that he formed with former Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello, Brad Wilk, and Tim Commerford. Just last week, the group was chosen to be a key part of this summer’s Ozzfest tour.

The first record by the group is already recorded, and was supposed to be released later this year, but Cornell’s manager told MTV that the project was “no longer moving forward.”

Cornell, former lead singer of Soundgarden, joined the other three when Zack De La Rocha left Rage.
