Bye Bye Bye: Lance Goes to Space… For Real
He conquered the music scene on earth, so Lance Bass has decided to try his luck in outer space. The ‘N Sync singer will travel to space in November aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket, becoming ‘N Sync’s first true “Space Cowboy”.
“I am completely overwhelmed at this invitation,” Bass said in a statement announcing the move. “I’m looking forward to completing this lifelong dream.”
Bass will undergo five to six months of training outside of Moscow before his excursion, MTV reports. A Los Angeles television crew will tape the whole affair.
The trip to space could cost upwards of $20 million, which is expected to be covered by sponsors.
“We are not saying it is an absolute, but it looks very very good,” said David Krieff, President of Destiny Productions, the company who would be producing the filming of the voyage. “We are pretty far advanced in talks with some sponsors. We have already raised half the capital necessary to do it.”
Bass will begin training in May, after ‘N Sync’s “Celebrity 2002″ tour.
