Backstreet Boys Resume Tour With AJ
The Backstreet Boys are back, and so is group-member A.J. McLean. McLean returned to the group yesterday after undergoing treatment for depression and alcohol abuse. He checked himself into the treatment center July 9, and the group was forced to delay their tour.
Last night in Milwaukee, the group returned in front of 14,000 fans at the Bradley Center. After two songs, the group addressed McLean’s problems.
“We took a little break for some things,” Brian Littrell said, according to the Journal Sentinel, as the others changed costumes. “Because the Backstreet Boys aren’t the Backstreet Boys without all five of us.”
McLean then emerged from the stage and thanked fans for their “support and understanding,” and informing them that he was “celebrating 51 days sober.”
Sisqo opened in replace of Shaggy who left the tour for scheduling conflicts.
