Another music awards show has come and gone. The American Music Awards was a huge disaster from the start. Here are some thoughts:

*Diddy and McCarthy as hosts: Didn?t they learn last year that teaming up a rapper with a blonde doesn’t work? LL Cool J and Britney were not funny, and the same could, and should be said about this year’s hosts. The only thing these people said was ?Hey there?s Destiny?s Child! Hey it?s Alicia Keys! Hey it?s Snoop Dogg!? Hey it?s time for the Grammys to show you how it?s done.

*Isn’t it time Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley grew up? Makeup and high heels- at least they didn’t wear a dress like shameless producer Dick Clark.

*Was there a purpose to airing Janet Jackson live via satellite from Japan?

*Line of the night goes to Pamela Anderson, while introducing Kid Rock. “Our next performer is the only man with an All Access pass to this arena.”

*I’m convinced Redman and Method Man were drunk.

*Teaming Nelly with Nelly Furtado to present an award was fine, but it is not possible that the only thing that writing team could come up with was “my mom named me after you.”

*Cedric the Entertainer’s jokes about terrorism were not funny. It’s not that it was inappropriate, it was simply not funny.

*What a weak climax to an already weak show. Artist of the Century Michael Jackson thanked his Friend of the Year Chris Tucker. No thank you?s for Macaulay?

*What was the point of Krystal coming out with BSB?s Nick ?I Wanna Be Like Willa? Carter and Kevin Richardson to yell a few high-pitched notes? She?s a great up-and-coming artist, but she earned no points for that impromptu performance.

*Will Shaggy and Lenny Kravitz ever learn new songs?

*Britney singing live???? I must have been day dreaming.

*It was a great addition to the lineup that Lil? Bow Wow performed at the beginning with Diddy and Mr. Cheeks. He said one word. Well, it wasn?t really a word, simply a ?uh? and then the song was done. So let me get this straight- since Bow Wow said a word at the AMAs, he can?t perform at the Grammys? Good job Bow Wow. At least he?ll get a day off to cut his hair.

*Usher was fabulous singing a duet with himself.

*Joining Britney, Chritina, Mandy, and Jessica?. Cher? Can someone please tell her to stop?

*Was Carrot Top reading a magazine?

*No boy bands performing? According to this week?s tabloids, Justin is saving himself for a personal performance with Britney on February 14. I guess he can?t perform at the Grammys.
