Adam?s Analysis: Pre-Grammy Rumblings
Things are shaping up for the Grammy Awards on Wednesday night. Here are the recent stories coming out of California:
-One insider tells andPOP, there will be a special surprise guest at the Grammys. Early speculation leads to Michael Jackson, who was not announced on the performers or presenters list. A report from the AP says Jackson will not be attending, so only time will tell. Perhaps that whole fiasco with Dick Clark was all for nothing.
-Speaking of the Jacksons, Janet is slated to present an award, but there is a rumor that she will make a surprise appearance with Outkast. They will be performing, fittingly, Ms. Jackson.
-Destiny’s Child will be performing with Alejandro Sanz. The duet was originally going to take place at the Latin Grammys on September 11.
-The early favourite for the night’s big winner is split between U2 and Alicia Keys. Nelly Furtado could steal a win away from them however.
-’N Sync will perform their “Girlfriend” remix with the other Nelly.
-The telecast is expected to go 30 minutes longer than usual, bringing the total to 3 hours and 30 minutes.
-The only lock at this year’s Grammys: Jon Stewart will be funny.
