R. Kelly was arrested today in Florida on child pornography charges after investigators said they found 12 photographs of him having sex with a girl.

After spending three hours in jail, Kelly (whose real name is Robert Kelly) was released on $12,000 bond.

“As far as we can tell, the charges all relate to R. Kelly’s arrest last summer. In other words, there is nothing new here,” Allan Mayer, Kelly’s representative, said in a statement.

He said the arrest was “a classic case of piling on, in which a local jurisdiction tries to make headlines by attaching itself to a celebrity case.”

He is still awaiting trial on 21 counts of child pornography in Chicago.

The singer plans on releasing a new album next month.
