Simon Cowell: meet your next victim. Paula Abdul could be making a comeback.

MTV is reporting that Abdul, currently a host on American Idol, is recording a new album.

“My fans want to dance and that’s what I want to do,” she said. “It’s going to be funky, but I’m doing a lot of different things, keeping it fresh.”

She is also reportedly writing songs for Kylie Minogue and other pop artists.

Abdul hasn’t released new material since 1995. Besides having two number one albums, Abdul has won a Grammy Award, three American Music Awards, and five MTV awards.
