50 Cent, the rapper signed to Eminem’s Shady Records, was arrested by police Tuesday, along with members of his entourage, for possession of two loaded guns in his car. He was later released.
He was scheduled to appear at a New Year’s event, and requested a bullet proof vehicle. When he pulled up at the club, police in an unmarked taxi cab instructed him to pull around the corner. They say he was pulled over for a traffic violation, and then found the two loaded guns.
Police also found four bulletproof vests in the car.
50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson), Timothy Bonaparte, Christopher Lloyd and Jean Bernard were all charged and arrested. The hired driver, Eliezer Cortes, was not charged.
Except for Bernard who had an outstanding warrant, all the men were released on bail.
He is due back in court Friday.
