Beyonce Replaces Britney as Pepsi Spokesperson
The next time you see Britney Spears singing ?The Joy of Pepsi? may be the last time you see that commercial. No, nobody is taking your television set away. Beyonce Knowles of Destiny?s Child is the new spokesperson for the cola brand.
The agreement means you will be seeing a lot more of Beyonce everywhere you look. She will be in two Pepsi television commercials, and will be involved in radio and internet ads, consumer promotions, and point-of-purchase materials. It also might mean a concert tour sponsorship, if Beyonce decides to tour.
Besides Spears, other past spokespeople include Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.
?I’m thrilled to be joining so many talented entertainers who have created memorable Pepsi moments over the years,? Knowles said. ?Many of them have inspired me, and I’d love to do the same for the next generation of artists out there.”
A spokesperson for Britney Spears told a New York paper that this deal does not mean Spears relationship with Pepsi is over. However, a Pepsi representative told the Associated Press that her contract ends at the end of this year and there are no plans to renew it.
