Elton John and Blue have collaborated on a song that will be included on the group’s upcoming album.

The international superstar and the pop group recorded a new version of John?s 1976 hit “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word,” during a November weekend.

The original song is one of Blue member Lee Ryan’s favourite and he had hoped that the group could cover the song. They asked John to perform a duet, and he agreed.

“We are all massive Elton fans,” Ryan said. “Personally he has always been one of my musical heroes. It?s an honour to have had the chance to record with him. I have always loved the song; it?s classic Elton.”

According to a press release by Virgin, Blue’s record label, John said the group’s debut album, All Rise, was the “best pop album of the year” and that he “is said to be delighted that this collaboration has come together.”

The video will also feature John. The single will be released on February 11, 2003, while the album “One Love,” is due out in the spring of 2003.
