CD Review: O-Town – 02
It is clear that the guys from O-Town had a much more hands on approach to their sophomore release and have really distanced themselves from the Making the Band
image. ?From the Damage” has both pop and rock elements, with Jacob Underwood?s voice resembling that of Bon Jovi, yet the song still contains the pop melodies. The mix works well. ?These are The Days? also has a healthy mix of both genres. There is a hit song with the ballad ?I Showed Her? that will unquestionably top their previous hits. ?Make Her Say? is the low point of the album, where they unsuccessfully tried to cover Master P?s ?Make Em Say Uhh.? ?Craving? has a hell of a lot of metaphors, but this Goo Goo Dolls-sounding-women-needing-anthem highlights the fine lyrical work of Ashley Angel, who worked on four of the thirteen songs.
