8 Mile Soundtrack Outsells Aguilera
Christina Aguilera sold a respectable 330,000 copies of “Stripped,” but it wasn’t enough to beat the 8 Mile soundtrack.
Eminem, who stars in the movie, contributed four songs to the soundtrack, which also includes songs by Jay-Z and Macy Gray. 702,000 copies were sold.
Nirvana’s “Nirvana” album sold 234,000 in its debut week.
This week’s Top Ten (according to Rolling Stone): 8 Mile Soundtrack; Christina Aguilera’s Stripped; Nirvana’s Nirvana; Santana’s Shaman; Rascal Flatts’ Melt; Faith Hill’s Cry; Tori Amos’ Scarlet’s Walk; Eminem’s The Eminem Show; Avril Lavigne’s Let Go; and the Dixie Chicks’ Home.
