Martinez Quits American Idol
It took Angie Martinez only one week to realize being a judge on American Idol just wasn’t for her.
The rapper and DJ took part in auditions in Detroit, New York, and Atlanta before bowing out.
“After judging the first few auditions, I’ve decided to leave the show because it became too uncomfortable for me to tell someone else to give up on their dream, especially when I realized that many of them have supported my musical career,” she said in a press release.
Fox won’t replace Martinez in American Idol 2, leaving the three original judges– Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson.
