Following in the tracks of “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson, runner up Justin Guarini has signed a record deal with RCA and Simon Fuller’s 19 Recordings Limited.

If the U.K. is any indication, the 23-year-old Guarini has nothing to worry about. Even though Gareth Gates lost to Will Young in “Pop Idol,” they both reached number one on the singles charts. Clarkson already reached the top in the U.S. and Canada.

RCA hopes to release a single by the end of the year, according to MTV.
