TRUSTcompany Not So Lonely Anymore
TRUSTcompany had a long journey before they got signed, but when a major label decided to test their luck on them, it was a quick process.
?The first time when we found out we got signed, we were actually doing a showcase. We were playing for the President of Geffen/Interscope, and we played three songs and he stopped us right there and said he wanted to sign us,? vocalist-guitarist Kevin Palmer told andPOP. ?After he said it, we went into the hall and celebrated and cheered.?
Hailing from the not-so-rock town of Montgomery, Alabama, TRUSTcompany had to do two things before anything else.
Initially, the group was called ?41 Down,? but after the success of Sum 41, far too many people were mixing the two bands up.
?A couple people in the industry called us Sum 41 by mistake,? said Palmer. ?We just wanted to come out with our own identity.?
The other thing was leave Montgomery so they could play in real rock cities, which they also did.
The group is currently opening up for Korn in Europe.
Their debut album, ?The Lonely Position Of Neutral,? lives up to its title, containing lyrics that feel like medicine healing Palmer?s wounds.
?My personal life is shown a lot in this record,? he said. ?You write about what you?re going through and how you feel and that?s what I was going through at the time. Luckily, I?m in a different place now but my personal life is definitely shown in this record.?
?Just getting our music out there,? said bassist Josh Moates, was the band?s ultimate goal, and so far, it appears as if they will succeed.
