The MTV Awards are worth watching for a few reasons, but there is no reason greater than surprises. The show is notorious for the unexpected, whether it be Kid Rock and Steven Tyler exchanging lines in “Walk This Way,” or Michael Jackson dancing with Justin Timberlake.

This year, one surprise is scheduled during a performance by Ja Rule and Ashanti, in the means of a guest performer. In rehearsals, the man joined in, but the network isn’t giving away anything.

“The performance was seductive and alluring and included a special unannounced guest who should help raise the room temperature when he joins in on Thursday night,” reports MTV.

“For me, and I think for a lot of people, it’s going to be looked upon as a breakthrough performance,” Ja Rule told MTV. “It’ll be a performance where you’re seeing a unity for the first time. Also I hope people are going to look at it and say, ‘Wow, here’s a rapper doing something very different from what we’re used to seeing.’”
