Timberlake Set to Release First Single, Perform at VMAs
November 12 is the expected release date of Justin Timberlake’s debut solo record, entitled, “Justified.” But fans will not have to wait that long to hear music from the album, in fact they will only have to wait just over a week.
The music video for the song, “Like I Love You,” will be released on September 9. He will perform the song for the first time live during the MTV Video Music Awards on August 29.
“I don’t want to say too much about it,” he told MTV. “I want people to get what they get from it. It’s definitely a new sound ? not just from me, but period.”
The poor quality copy of the song was leaked to the Internet late last week, and is currently being exchanged at a rapid pace.
Fans or people who are interested in hearing the song will see a new side to Timberlake. The song mixes electro-vibes with an urban feel, and actually starts off with an acoustic guitar.
The Neptunes and Timbaland produced most of the album, with Brian McKnight, Mario Winans and P. Diddy lending some of their time to help with the production.
“When it gets done, you don’t look back at it and say, ‘Oh, I could have done that better.’ When Picasso looked at something, he didn’t go back and touch it up with a paintbrush,” he said of the new album.
Comparing yourself to Picasso now? No comment.
