After lightning struck the stage in Mexico shortly after Britney Spears cancelled her concert there, Shakira was having trouble of her own with the weather, though this time more serious. The woman famous for such song lyrics as ?Lucky that my breasts are small and humble? and ?Lucky I have strong legs like my mother? was lucky herself that there was a baseball field nearby when her helicopter had to make an emergency landing during high winds and heavy rains.
Shakira and family are vacationing at her Dominican home in La Romana, 68 miles east of Santo Domingo, and she was on her way back there from Punta Cana on the island?s north end. It is not known whether her family or anyone else was on the troubled helicopter.
